VACANCIES FOR A COUNCILLOR

Following the resignation of Councillor Tony Madeley there is a vacancy for a parish
councillor for Eaton Under Heywood & Hope Bowdler Parish Council.

If you are a British or Commonwealth citizen, citizen of the Republic of Ireland or a
European Union citizen who has attained the age of 18 years and either:-

  • You are registered as a local government elector for the Parish of Eaton Under Heywood or Hope Bowdler,
  • or for at least 12 months have occupied as owner or tenant land or other premises in the parish, or
  • Your main occupation has been in the Parish for the last 12 months, or
  • You have resided in the Parish or within three miles of its boundaries for at least 12 months 

And are not disqualified from holding office by reason of any disqualification set out in the Local Government Act 1972, which include bankruptcy, county court orders, non-payment of council taxes, being found guilty of corrupt or illegal practices in election law, then you would be eligible to stand as a co-opted Councillor for Eaton Under Heywood & Hope Bowdler Parish Council

We hold generally 10 meeting each year which alternate between Hope Bowdler and Ticklerton Village Halls.

We have a meeting on Monday 16 th June 2025 at Ticklerton Village Hall if you would like to come and meet us.

Interviews will be held on: 14 th July 2025 at Hope Bowdler Village Hall at 7.30pm
